This article has been a long time coming! I have written and re-written this article many times in order to try to be as clear as possible. Over the past weeks, I've sought to write some articles that lay the groundwork for this one. It's not an easy discussion because, like most things in life, it is very complex and takes careful consideration to discuss well. The primary point I will be making in this article is as follows:

The theology of the Clarity of Scripture is also called the Perspicuity of Scripture. This idea was one of the key concepts pushed for by the reformers like Luther, Tyndale, and Wycliffe. The theology was presented as an alternative to the Roman Catholic belief that the Bible could only be rightly understood by the priests of the Catholic church.

My wife and I experienced a sudden and dramatic change in our lives. One moment we were living in our home, preparing for the arrival of our daughter into the world, the next moment we were out on the front lawn watching smoke come out the front door.

In the third and final part of this series on Humility, I'm going to discuss some thoughts on how and why people choose to not pursue humility, and how it relates to a concept called Ideological Possession.

This is the beginning of a 3-part series on Humility. I am going to write about the topic from a philosophical and psychological perspective. There is also a spiritual element that I will introduce at the end of the article. My spiritual beliefs and knowledge are rooted in the Bible so I will be using that as my reference when discussing the spiritual aspect of Humility.

Every so often, I'll go on a word study. Sometimes these word studies are short detours. Sometimes they take on a life of their own. I savor it when I have enough time to slow down and follow where these studies lead.
